Write to support@macrocraftfoods.com. Say which iPhone and iOS version you have and what you expected to happen. Please do not send your food log, weights or a backup file — we never need them, and MacroCraft is built so that we never see them.

Moving to a new phone

In MacroCraft, open More → Backup and export → Create backup. Save the recovery key it shows somewhere safe, such as a password manager, then keep the .mcbackup file wherever you like. On the new phone, install MacroCraft, open More → Backup and export, type the key under Restore from a backup and choose the file. Without the key the backup cannot be opened by anybody, including us.

Apple Health

MacroCraft asks for each kind of data separately, and works fully without any of them. To change what it can read or write, open the iPhone's Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → MacroCraft. iOS does not tell apps when a read permission is refused, so MacroCraft cannot always tell “no data” from “not allowed” — if a weigh-in is missing, check that screen first.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app deletes its database and its encryption key. Inside the app, More → Backup and export → Reset app data does the same without removing the app, and offers to remove the nutrition entries MacroCraft wrote to Apple Health. Your own backup files are wherever you put them.
